Born on 6th September 1968, in Alexandria Egypt, the Greek coach is energetic, committed to hard work, with more than 15 years of professional coaching experience, motivating athletes, mentoring players, and helping his teams meet their goals. Coach Chougaz, is distinguished as a winning coach, with the ability to create a winwin situation for both the Club and the Players he coaches. While obtaining good results through his system, he also constantly improves his players, does not hesitate to put young ones in the mix, getting the best out of each one for the team’s benefit. A hard working and demanding coach, Chris is also a great motivator who has the ability to adapt to any adversity while he always searches for solutions to keep the motivation and focus in a high level during the season. Chougaz is also socially skilled and a fan favorite, who rapidly integrates well in any local community reality. A positive minded individual who transmits enthusiasm.

Considered as one of the emerging top coaches in Europe, after brilliantly guiding his Oberwart Gunners of Austria to the outstanding result of the FIBA Euro Cup second stage during the 2016-2017 season with the youngest team in the competition, after having won the Austrian Championship and National Cup the previous season and getting five of his players awarded. The overall outstanding season resulted in being honored as Coach of the Year by the League and the Burgenland Region in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
